Stroller Walks

The weather is getting nice here in the Bethesda / Washington DC area, and so I've been taking my daughter out for longer and longer stroller walks. The stroller we use is definitely getting its money's worth! (See my review of the stroller at HealthyBot.com.

I'm glad to be walking a lot more these days, its one of my favorite activities, not too boring, not too intense, fresh air and sunshine, how can you go wrong? Its kind of like golf without the frustration (mainly because I'm a terrible golfer).

Walking with a stroller and baby is fun too because I've been crossing paths with other stroller walkers and its helpful to chit-chat with them about kids and the neighborhood. My sister was signed up for Stroller Strides, but I'm just going to stick with my neighborhood strolls for now.

Walking is also supposed to be very good for health reasons - not just for the enjoyable reasons mentioned above. It burns calories and is a minimal workout. I try to walk for fifteen to thirty minutes each time, and tackle one hill - that seems to get my heart pumping.
