My sister just emailed me this link:
Its about how the American Heart Association (AHA) has simplified their rules for applying CPR.
I decided to take five minutes and read through the site, as I never know if or when I might be the only person around who might be able to help someone who's just had a heart attack.
Learning some valuable skills from the site didn't even take five minutes! They have an awesome video that I found easy to follow and understand. It communicated to me that if I see someone who collapses and is unresponsive, I should:
- Call 911
- Press on the heart attack victims chest with both hands until help arrives at approximately 100 beats per minute
I hope to never be in a situation where this is needed, but if I am, I feel like I'll be better prepared.
